What experience has East Yorkshire Property Services
got of EPCs?
-
Owner of EYPS, Keith Wardrop has been qualified and
accredited as a Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) since the Government
first brought the HIP and EPC into being in 2007. Once the DEA team leader for Yorkshire / North Derbyshire
with the leading
provider of HIPS he has now completed over 2000 accurate EPCs.
-
How do we know the EPCs are accurate?
-
All DEAs have to be accredited with a Government
approved body and these Accreditation bodies have to undertake audits
of the DEAs work. Inaccurate EPCs or any other repeated shoddy work
can lead to DEAs being removed from the register.
-
What do we get for our money?
-
EYPS will carry out a site survey promptly and produce
the EPC within 24 hours of the survey. You get a posted printed copy
and/or a PDF file emailed to you or your agent.
-
Do I have to order the full Inventory service or can I
just order an end of tenancy check?
-
Obviously it would be better if EYPS could carry out
the initial Inventory to enable an accurate judgement on wear, tear or
damage, but we are happy to assess the condition of your property when
a tenant vacates.
-
Should I be concerned about the safety of people
working in my property?
-
All EYPS operatives are fully H&S trained and we
carry full Public and Employee insurance. However to prevent any
unfortunate accidents the property is fully assessed prior to our
quotation and any safety issues are highlighted. For example, if there
are exposed live wires, asbestos or other dangerous substances we will
request that they be dealt with by the relevant experts prior to our
operatives clearing the property.
-
Is there anything you don't cover?
-
Yes, as well as the afore-mentioned issues with
safety, we don't carry out building work (apart from basic filling of
walls, etc). We also don't do landscape gardening or planting, turfing,
etc. We are happy to advise on a specialist company for these areas if
required.
-
Do you
install the Solar PV system on my house?
-
EYPS
don't install the system - this is done by trained MCS certified
installers. We
carry out a thorough feasibility survey on your property and advise
you on the possible yield based on our findings. Then as part of the
Stroma Network we liaise with them to provide an accurate quotation.
If this is acceptable to you the Stroma Network takes care of the
installation through to completion.
